when we were youngsters the ice cream van would come round most days and we would buy an ice cream cornet with raspberry (juice) on it.

Question is where can I get some of this ras for my grand daughters birthday party?

Have a look in any of the big supermarkets
they all sell it ...all flavours ..

We shop at Morrisons, they don't sell it
Anytime we have got it I have had to go to an old style ice cream place and ask for some. They usually oblige and put it in a small ice cream tub for me.
The stuff they sell in the supermarkets just isn't the same.
I bought the same stuff the 'icey' uses at a garden centre - maybe try your nearest one?
We used to ask for some 'Monkey's Blood' on our ice cream!

Hard to get these days, only some ice cream shops still have it. Probably consists solely of dubious colouring, flavouring, and additives. But I'd follow Ken's advice, though the shopkeeper might be a bit miffed if you don't buy the ice cream from them at the same time!
Our local ice cream shop Dixon's of Huddersfield sell the real stuff. They also do the best home made 'milk ice' ice cream ever. It's in a big squeezy bottle so I would imagine they would send it if you're not local. They'll be on yell.com

Bolly, it's not the stuff that Morrisons sell is it, because theirs is just tate and lyle syrup with some kind of raspberry flavour added. It's bloody awful

Bolly you are a star I've just ordered a pint bottle from them at 1.80 +postage Thanks
Asda definately sells it, if you go to their baking isle, there's a section of them there. They have the Extra Special stuff that's in a jar, I use it as strawberry sauce base before I put on the real strawberries when I make a cheesecake :0)

Dakota, it's not the proper stuff, them real thing is called raspberry vinegar, the stuff in supermarkets is flavoured tate and lyle syrup. It is thick and gooey just like syrup out of the can.
I saw the proper stuff in Dobbies just the other day.
