Some are - some aren't.
Bronchitis isn't contagious for example.

There are many different sorts of 'chest infections' but as a rule, infections described as such are not contagious.

well there's a virus going around here that seems to bypass the cold stage & goes straight to the chest & stomach.

Chest infections are contagious but you need to cough in the face of your opponent to create lasting damage.
