Does anyone know if you can defer Jury service if you have a holiday booked for the dates you have been summoned for????????

Yes, you can usually get it deferred.

Thanks rollo, I looked on that website earlier, but it wasnt very specific as to what "reasonable reasons for deferring" were acceptable. But your link states that holidays would be acceptable.

Yes, don't worry, this happened to my mum this year. Typically, the jury summons was for exactly the same time as a booked holiday. She asked to defer, and this was excepted without any questions - although I've read somewhere you may be asked to provide proof of the booking.

They are able to reject your application for deferral, but it's highly unlikely.
I did this, and it was 10 years before they asked me again.
