I kept a beloved Rhododendon in a pot for six months during a house move, and when I finally planted it out last spring it didn't flower. It has been in the ground for over 18 months. Do I need to do anything to encourage it to flower this time round?

It sounds as if your beloved plant got rootballed in its pot and didn't have time to gather enough nutrients for last spring. If you've planted it in good fertile acid conditions it should have recovered by now and flower happily. To help make sure, top dress with peat and feed with a rose fertiliser in early spring.
