Hanging out washing in the rain

I just hand-washed a few towels and hung them out in the garden. 5 minutes later it started to rain so I rushed out and brought them in where they are now dripping all over the floor. Would you have left them out to be soaked by rain and then left to dry ? Next door do loads of washing, and if it gets rained on they wash it again. I think that's unnecessary. I only wash towels after about 30 baths, because they are only ever used for drying clean flesh.

You should change towels regularly, usually once or twice a week. Although you are drying clean skin, dead skin cells will come off on to your towel and 30 drys later thats not a nice thought that all that dead skin has been sitting festering on the towel and each time you have used it you have been rubbing the dead stuff back on to clean skin.
As for taking towels in from the rain, the trouble with leaving any clothes out in the rain and then not washing them again makes them likely to smell a bit stale.
