Planning to go to Australia in about 18 months for about 2-3 weeks..Could someone please give me any information I need to know also how long was your flight.where you stopped during flight ..Also any info on car hire and reasonable bed and breakfast places. This info required for Sydney area and hope to fly from Birmingham. You may say it is not long enough but my reason is to visit a friend I have spoke to on here for over 2 years.Do not intend to stay with her as she wants us too but think better to go Band B as my son is coming with me then we have our own time and visit her and she will come with us for sight seeing. THANK yOU.

Hi there. You lucky thing!! I went to sydney a couple of years ago, i stayed with a friend for 2 weeks tho so no info on b & b's - I flew with Singapore airlines, they were fantastic. I flew from manchester to singapore - that took 13 hours. i then boarded another plane to sydney which took 8 hours. the flights are tiring but there is plenty to do as you have yor own personal tv with a huge choice of films music and video games. i went for two weeks and found it to be far too short so opt for the three weeks if you can!! hope this helps

Thank you for your reply.Yes I thought 2 weeks would not be long enough as lot of time taken up travelling.
Flew out Heathrow to Sydney via Bangkok on BA. Left LHR at 11pm (should have been 10pm), landed BKK 3.30pm local, 2 hrs on the ground instead of 3 (to catch up the 1 hr delay), arrived SYD 6.15am local...feeling like a zombie!! We were going on a cruise, so only had 3 days in Sydney. You could easily spend 3 weeks. Can't help with a B&B, as we stayed in a hotel. Breakfast is dead cheap in Sydney and loads of pavement cafes serve it; about 4.50 for a 'full english'. Try and do a harbour tour. Also the ferries at Circular Quay will take you all over the city. Highly recommend the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb. Stunning views, but a bit pricey at 75 each, but hey, you're only there once!! People are really friendly and will try and help if you are looking for a particular type of shop or have just got lost!! Its a great city. Have fun.
