I guess working with XP on my PC and Vista on my Laptop was bound to cause me problems. My Volume Icon as gone AWOL from the taskbar (Vista)...I have no problem at all with XP but Microsoft only advise on how to install it back to the taskbar on XP or below...Any help much appreciated please..Telboy

right click with mouse pointer over taskbar
properties | notification area |
tick/untick options 'till you are satisfied

Click ok .... put some music on ..... set volume - enjoy

Hi ACtheTroll....Tried that but in the notification area there are ticks in "clock" & "power" but the other two ("volume & network" ) are Grey and I can't enter the ticks..Hope you can give more advice.

I'm alone...I have retrieved what was lost...Don't ask me how....I had to re-start the comp while doing another job....When it came back up...all was back to norm: Thanks for your help...Telboy
