Dumping by txt

Not sure if this has been brought up on B&S in the past, but what is it with this dumping someone by txt this days.
It seems to be the younger element of society that are doing it tho i know a few older hands are starting to adopt this way of finishing a relationship now.
Why are people choosing to adopt this way of ending a relationship?
Is it because they lack confidence, confrontation, or are cowards or heartless etc etc?
its a pathetic way of dealing with things if you ask me, not giving someone a chance to explain no matter what the circumstances were is silly really, i suspose people will say its an easy kop out to do it this way, it was an easy kop out to ring someone or write a letter years ago, but i don't recall it this bad, blame it on technology maybe.

ive gotta say its only good manners to say face to face to someone that its over.
seems strange to say after going out for a month together ,perhaps even having sex ( as i believe is possible)that you only think the person is good enough to be dumped by text.
if theyre good enought o go out with then surely any decent person would at least tell them face to face .

Hmmm, i can understand why people dump their partners by text.
They wont have to put up with all the emotional reactions and all the "oh how am i going to go on living without you" or "can we not make a go of it,i will change" or "i am gonna kill myself if you leave me"
