I have taken my acrylic nails off to give my nails a break, but by God it is purgatory. My nails are so soft and thin and keep splitting it even hurts when I put them in the washing up bowl, does any one have any suggestions before I put acylic back on for some respite?

i would contact a local beauty salon and ask for professional advice
i had acrylic nails - even though they were not recommended and they are bad for nails mine went like yours
and i think you should avoid having them out again they will destroy your nails in the long run x
"Nail eat" polish is brilliant, go to http://www.nailcareclub.com/acatalog/nailsgrow .htm it worked well for me.
I am going through exactly the same now!!! My nails are so sensitive and feel so traumatised. I have ALWAYS had the UV gel nails which were absolutely fantastic and my own nails were lovely and strong underneath. I am going to wait about 4 weeks then get some gels done again. I would never have acrylics EVER again.
sally hanson gold works wonders after false nails are taken off!
Hi,
This happened to me too. Its because there has too many layers from your nail filed away taking it too far down into your nail bed. Can i ask though did you get them soaked of or did you lift them? if you lifted them then the chances are that too mant nail layers have lifted with them.
What you need to do is get a good cuticle/ nail oil to put the nourishment back in them, get a nail hardener varnish to wear as a base coat then apply a good few coats of varnish of top of that to protect your nail bed. If its not protected it could get infected x

Thank you lou, I am now on the road to recovery the nails are growing and I can see a ridge where the healthy nail is much thicker, so yes I guess the layers have been damaged, don't think I am going to bother with falsies any more, Thanks for your replies everyone.
