i lived in key west for 15 years the people i grew up with i am talking from middle school to high school where really great friends guys and girls. But living here in jacksonville and in the two years i have been here i have only made two friends. When we go out i will sometimes not always but sometimes i will flip the bill for drinks or pay a little more then half of the bill it is only fair because they drive and pick me up to go out. In key west you do not need to drive to get around but coming up to jacksonville my life just changed completely and now not only do i need to get my drivers lic. but i have to learn how to drive. I enjoy many things I do boxing weight lifting running and enjoy watching baseball basketball hockey.
but it seems that if you do not act a certin way or if you are not into smoking weed or getting wasted in bars then you do not belong i guess my problem is that living in key west i never really knew what living in the real world was like until now. I can not go back to key west as ever option that i had to stay down there fell thought. I hate this town but like the fool that I 'am (not talking down to myself or feeling sorry for myself) I keep trying. this is in reponse to my other question that i posted earlier.

Hi ultraman

Its good to have as many friends as possible,as long as they are the "right" kind. You do well to stay away from the cretins, drug users and such. Are there any guys and girls you can meet up with from the gym (I assume you go as you metioned weights etc.) You hang in there, you sound nice so dont let anyone change you, and may be with new friends, the town may not be so bad.
Every one on AB are the best people so you have all of us to "chat " to.

You take care,good luck

lol

I haven't seen your other post....you sound like you have some good interests (sport etc), are there any sports clubs you could join to meet people? ALso, although at the time it may seem a bit of a chore about getting the driving licence, think of the freedom it will give you when you have it....Do you have family in the new town?
I agree with baby jane about not getting in with the wrong crowd, it sounds like you have your head screwed on which is good.
