I believe time travel is possible. I dont understand how Einstein came up with these theories when he hardly understood the universe around us - like dark matter.

was there something you wanted to ask?
So you understand the universe better than Einstein did,
and your beliefs are better than his theories?
Good for you.
Now what do you expect by writing it here?
Arguments? Laughs? A Nobel prize?
You don't seem to want any answer.
If you wanted to start a serious discussion then I wouldn't have done it that way...
Mathematically many things, like parallel universes and time travel, are possible. Folding 8 pints of water into the volume of a single pint is, too. (A tesseract). But at a practical level, there's no evidence that they can work.

Dark matter was first proposed back in the 1920s, but only in the past few decades, well after Einstein's death, has it been researched seriously. Even so, many scientists are still trying to prove whether it exists or not, and what it could be.

Denigrating Einstein is hardly fair. He understood more about the universe than most of his contemporaries.
Great 'question' ???
One possible 'answer' ???
Perhaps, if time travel is ever a reality, Gerkin could go back in time and post a question
Leaving the physics to one side, if time travel is possible why haven't we met anyone from the future?
Relativity is probably not really strongly related to dark matter but Einstein was in many ways the originator of "Dark Energy".

This relates to a value in the general relativity called the cosmological constant. He introduced this into what became known as the Einstein Field Equations but it predicted an accelerating expansion of the universe.

He later retracted it after Hubbles work on the universe's expansion and claimed it was the greatest mistake of his life.

About 10 years ago a team studying supernovae managed to show that the expansion of the Universe is actually accelerating after all so Einstein may well have been on the right track to start with.

He certainly wasn't always right though he spent much of the latter years of his life trying to prove quantum theory wrong - finally coming up with a paradox called the EPR paradox which pitted relativity against quantum mechanics.

Fortunately Einstein did not live long enough to see it tested in the 80's relativity "lost"!
Hmm the where are all the time travellers question?
one theory ive seen to try and explain this is that you could only travel back in time to the point when a working time machine existed.
What a steaming load. Time travel can't be possible for the pure fact that we don't continue to relive incidents and we haven't lived them in the future already. So they couldn't possibly be visited. Unless you are superman of course.........................sorry
Final answer on time travel. It does not exsit and no-one will ever discover a way. Wait I hear you cry, how come you are so certain. Well here my friend is how, do u or i know anyone who hasever travelled in time ? No (Dr Who doen't count). This proves it. If time travel existed at any point in time people from all different times would be traveling to our current day. There.
I too, believe time travel is possible...I am writing this from the far distant future, so gerkin is not as gullible as we think!!
This question was asked next year.
