New research shows that many hair colouring products contain dangerous levels of toxic chemicals which can cause skin inflammation and irritation, and treble the chances of developing bladder cancer. Last week a British woman died following a fatal allergic reaction to a Laboratoires Garnier product. The EU Scientific Committee for Cosmetic Products said that strict new guidelines for the industry would soon be in place, including clear labelling which emphasises the need for a patch test. It's also likely that they will bring in new concentration levels for many of the chemicals. This is not the first time that hair dye has been thought to be harmful. In January of this year, another report suggested that using permanent hair dye can treble your chances of having bladder cancer, while hairdressers who come into daily contact with hair dye are five times more at risk.
id say its a little of another scare reaction, ive been dying my hair since i was 14 (16yrs) different colours, different brands, strong bleach somtimes tingles a bit, but when one person has a severe reaction its always made into a huge thing
How come some people are allergic to those common 2 part permanent hair dyes, but aparently, most are not..I forgot that I was and now have the dreaded peeling ears, itchy scalp , lumps in the head and a swollen throat again.I always prided myself on having a tough medium complection that does not burn easily ?Being a male I was only using occasionly for a shade less grey.
Not sure if its bad for your health but I've learnt its bad for your carpet! Any tips for getting it out? A bottle I'd left on the floor whilst doing a 'strand test' has erupted and left a nasty stain on the carpet..... any ideas??
