My wife passed her test, that in itself is disastrous yet not entierly humorous
Lorries can only do 40 on single carriageways. One instructor said to me whenever you see a 50 sign, see it as a 40.

On my first test the examiner took me down the North Circular. I saw the 50 sign, so drove exactly at 40.

I forgot that as that section was a dual carriageway, the lorry speed limit was therefore 50.

Big black mark for failing to make progress - the examiner knew exactly what I was confused on.
many years ago my brother did his motorbike test.told drive around this block and go round a few times, at some point i will step forward and you do an emergency stop. big brother drove round, took a wrong turn and took ten minutes to get back to where he should be.then drove round for ten laps and no examiner stepped out. drove round very slowly still no examiner. ??? went back to the test center and said he'd lost his examiner. they told him he'd jumped out in front of the wrong bike and got run over. 'cos it was near to reading hospital a kind motorist put him in his car and whisked him off to hospital.
he passed on his second try!!!
years ago taking the first part of my motorcycle test i was sitting in the waiting room with another chap waiting for our turn so we got chatting. i was telling him how i had done certain things that might be frowned upon by the plod and what i had got away with. i asked him if he was taking his test for courier work when he replied ' no-motorcycle cop!!'
