obtaining my mothers real parents name

My mother was adopted, I would like to know who my mothers parents were as I am related to them - is there any way to have this information released without my mothers assistance?

adopted mother - can i find out who my grandparents are?

can i find out who my adopted mothers parents are without her help, afterall they will be my actual grandparents? im in England if this makes a difference..?
