how do i set the camshaft timing on renault megan scenic 1.6 8 valve petrol 1998 is it just no 1 rocking or no 4 rocking or is it somthing else.

should be set no1 cyl at tdc, and both valves rocking......so on an ohc engine the cam lobes point away from valves. be careful, and i would advise that you turn the engine over by hand (ignition off) to make sure valves do not hit the pistons (expensive!)
