ITV news reporters
I've just watched an ITV news report where the reporter was talking to an American soldier's widow. The last question he asked her was 'do you still think about him?' How insensitive can you get?

I suppose it depends how recently her husband passed away as to just how insensitive the comment was. The more I think about it, the more I think it was a stupid question rather than insensitive, of course the widow will think about her late husband. I wonder who wrote the interview and if they are feeling a bit silly right now.

Yes, but it's not just that report.
I see reporters and news presenters asking increasingly stupid or inane questions.
I'm convinced it's because TV companies have too many hours to fill on 24 hour news channels and too many presenters chosen for looking good on camera rather than being good journalists.
And even the good ones are asking stupid questions. I assume it's because they no longer have time to properly prepare for interviews.
I'd happily have the UK dump this multichannel madness and return to 4 or 5 channels. Quality not quantity. Hell, it might even sound the death knell for Big Brother and I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. That alone is reason enough.

Don't bother with ITV. Switch to Channel 4.

More seriously, though, ITV are a joke, to be honest; they've basically become the TV equivalent of The Sun, just endless hype over are we going to die of x, are we going to suffer from y, are we not going to die of x after all, my gosh if you look at the stats there's been a 300% rise in z kind of crime, never mind that the rise is from 1 incident to 4 per year, etc.
