Hi, About 7 - 10 days ago I planted up a selection of early and late spring bulbs in my borders, I also put some in a tub, today I noticed one sprouting in the tub, surely its far too early, has anyone else noticed this happening in their garden. Thanks in advance. X X X :-)

Hi Cat woman, Yes, I put it down to the unseasonably mild weather we've had of late, I seen Rhododendron in flower, butterflies still around and I remember someone saying they had seen some horsechestnut in flower a couple of weeks ago. I think its thrown mother nature into a state of confusion!

Hi Tbird+, I still have rose's in full bloom too which is unusual for this time of the year, plus my hanging Fuchsia is still producing lots of flowers. X X X :-)
Yes, it's too early but I also already have one or two bulbs starting to sprout due to the recent rain and warm soil caused by the sunshine. Also where we live, hardly any of the trees have turned yellow and shed their leaves yet. My geraniums are still blooming and I have one courgette plant still flowering and bearing fruit. I don't think anybody now can deny the existence of global warming, and nice though it is to have had this prolonged Indian summer, the long term consequences don't bear thinking about unless we all really get serious about doing something to combat it.

Hi WendyS, I totally agree with you about global warming, I can remember not too many years ago that I used to give my lawns their last cut of year at the end of September, I had to cut mine again this Sunday gone!....... It goes to show that the situation is getting worse. X X X :-)
