Does anyone know of a genuinely free disk clone software that's downloadable ?

(I've downloaded and tried 2 different (claimed to be free) cloning programmes today and both let me get to the stage when it was supposed to start and then displayed a popup asking for payment, and wouldn't let me go any further.)

TIA

Unless you're planning on opening a PC repair shop, where you'll need to keep on using disk cloning software over a prolonged period, the 30-day free trial of Macrium Reflect 8 Home should be good enough for your needs. You don't need to give your debit/credit card details and you even get free support throughout the 30 day period:

I'll give that a try, thanks.

Clone failed - Error 0 - Read failed - 9 - Bad file descriptor-MFT corrupt - Error code - 6. Please run 'chkdsk C: /r'

I hope chkdsk works on SSDs.

Insufficient privileges, locked, elevated mode ???

Braved a reboot. Now running check. Keeps sticking.

(Interesting that CMOS menus don't see the SSD boot drive, whereas going directly to the boot disk list sees it no problem.)

"Invalid partition table". What blessed use is that ? Chkdsk is supposed to be testing, hopefully fixing; crashing out isn't part of the plan !
