Cherub, as Butch said.. it's a much loved arse, whereas you are just an arse.
The deeds to my house list all of the owners since it was built. (Of course, if property was rented that won't show who actually lived there). Sometimes the title register, which can be downloaded from the Land Registry for £4, shows the same information. (I used to believe that it was always true but someone has recently posted to state that the title register for their property doesn't show historical details). If you're prepared to fork out £4 to see what's on the title register for your house, see here:

Alternatively, your County Records Office (run by your county council - or your metropolitan/unitary council where appropriate) will almost certainly retain copies of the electoral roll for your area. (You simply need to look up the address and you'll see the names of all voters who were registered at your address). You can probably find their phone number listed under the council's name in the Phone Book. Some offices will answer simple questions, like yours, over the phone. Others require you to visit the office to look up the information for yourself. (If that's necessary, take your passport or driving licence and two proofs of address as you may be required to register for a 'reader's ticket' before you can access any information).

oh Chris, you're so bloody nice, lol ;o)

No, his link shut at midnight
I reckon Cherub slipped him a back-hander.

You should be able to check it on the local electoral rolls which are at your library although, they may not be this up to date, but worth a look
who lived in your house i dunno maybe 1984??
rot?
rising damp?
leonard rossiter??
who lives in a house like this?? lets look through the keyhole
hmmm, well spotted, Butch. It was decent of Chris to give a detailed answer - just that it wasn't to the question that was asked. Sometimes it can be hard to read the mind of the OP.
another answer might be 'ask the neighbours'.
