Barry.  I have had a lot of things supplied free on loan from our council adult services and lots more offered.  Hubby fitted my shower grab rails, but adult social services have offered to supply and fit in other places where I consider I don't need them.  I get attendance allowance which isn't  considered a benefit.  and have had a blue badge for years.   We don't qualify for benefits or tax concessions.  The things on loan basically stay for ever.  Things like perching stalls and raised loo seats.

I think North Norfolk recently changed their policies Lottie - MIL got a long letter about how stuff that can be done outside of council remit should be done because of budges and income etc

And everything I've needed has been supplied very quickly!

This was quite recently Red norfolk county Council,  not the district council.  Adult social services Nobody even enquired about our financial position.

Pleased you're sorted, JJ. Just the car and the computer now 😜

Countrylover, every council has their own policies, I'm glad you've benefited.

attendance allowance is a benefit.  Not means tested, but is one

This is an example of my council's cuts in service for the frail, disabled and elderly - in today's local paper

https://www.expressandstar.com/news/politics/2023/10/19/vulnerable-people-take-a-chance-on-their-health-as-a-third-leave-dudley-telecare-over-250-charge/

i know this is nothing to do with the subject at hand, but that article, written by their senior reporter say this "Dudley's Telecare was seen as a pioneering system which councils across introduced, pensioners across the country are hoping charging will fail to ensure other authorities."

i'd hate to see how their junior reporters write!

It is a poor paper, it's true
