Does Psychosis Change Your Personality?

Just wondering as someone I know is going through it. She used to think highly of me and we've never argued and now it just feels like i'm unimportant but speaks to random people on the internet. She is going through a psychotic episode.

It all started with some burner account Elon Musk messaging her on IG. At first, I thought she was just playing around. Now she fully believes it's him. Weird situation.

No idea how to go about it if she is actively pushing me away.

Looking at your responses to emmie's questions, I get the feeling that you don't actually know this person very well.
You don't know her family or friends, and can't contact them.
You don't know her address.
You don't know if she has been diagnosed with psychosis but you seem to have decided yourself that she is suffering from this condition because "your family are MDs".
She has already cut you off on one social media platform. Maybe this should tell you something?
I think you should back off, stop talking about her to other people (eg your family, and total strangers on this site), leave the pathway open that she can contact you and if she doesn't do so, let it rest.
You may be completely wrong in your assessment of her mental health problems and she won't thank you for it.

Chanel5 - I saw her last week and she was telling me she was unstable. I've known her for a good year but I'm not on those sorts of terms to go speak to her friends or family as they probably wouldn't know who I am. We live a fair distance away and for religious reasons could never be seen at one anothers houses. Met in public places. She has said all these things in front of me. I got a hotel room upgraded to a suite for free and she was convinced it was cause Elon knows her and wanted to help me out. She showed me the disguise she was in to go rob a bank. It definitely wasn't normal. Don't lecture me on the validity of my relationship to her. She's always held me in high esteem and now suddenly distanced.
