Just wondering as someone I know is going through it. She used to think highly of me and we've never argued and now it just feels like i'm unimportant but speaks to random people on the internet. She is going through a psychotic episode.

has she been diagnosed with it, as she should be under the mental health team who can give her support.
Cue the spooky music.
it seems like a genuine question, and one that i can say yes to, it can change one's personality. Been there and had a long spell in hospital for it.

She hasn't been getting help. Thinks she is fine but just going through normal depression..
psychosis is not normal depression, she needs a GP help to start with then specialist help thereafter.
as i said i have been through it and it's awful for the person and those who support you

It's been going on for two months now. Bouts of mania and then severe depression. Thinks Elon Musk is hacking her phone. Unaware she is the one doing all those things..

She's gone completely cold on me. Do I just stay away?
no, try and get her to see a doctor first off, then she should be referred to a mental health team.
Question Author
She won't listen. It's like a complete loss of respect. When I ask how she is, she'll say that she has never been happier...
does she have family, friends who can help her.
And this is one person's take on this situation
Question Author
None who I can contact. She randomly blocked me off one social media (we hadn't spoken for a few days) and carried on speaking on another..
//She won't listen//

Says it all..
can you contact her doctor if she has one, how do you know she is suffering from psychosis by the way. Has it happened before.
Question Author
My family are MDs. I've explained what she has been going through and the things she has been doing/saying.

Firmly believing that Elon Musk is responsible for every little coincidence that occurs in her life. That when she does something he wants, he writes in neon lights on windows 'Thank you for helping'...
ok so she is going through a bad episode, i reckon you could ask a doctor if he/she could help.
Question Author
She lives quite far and I don't know her exact address. Right now, it seems like she doesn't even want to know me.

That goes back to the original question. Is this distance and loss of respect normal for someone with psychosis?
you lose a lot if in an episode, not just respect for others, but ones self.
//normal for someone with psychosis//

Look in a mirror
i didn't get the help i needed straight off as i didn't realise my deep depression was anything at all. she needs specialist help.....
