My friend was due to be paid first installment of the government £400 help package. But it was not credited to their account. Has this happened to you or has payment been credited to your bank account.

Thanks folks

Where is she based in the UK?
I am SSE and I have not had anything yet and I am in NI

Scotland
No one gets £400. It’s spread over the next few months:
The discount will be paid by your electricity supplier and the Energy Bills Support Scheme is in addition to the government’s Energy Price Guarantee.

The £400 discount will be spread over a 6 month period, from October 2022 to March 2023. You’ll receive £66 in October and November, and then £67 every month until March.

OK has she checked her account for a £66 'refund'
My understanding is that it is not being given in one go but that a small refund is given after each DD is received from the customer, a bit irish IMO.
You've not stated how your friend pays for her electricity. If it's by direct debit, for example, the normal amount will have been taken from her account on the usual date, with £66 then to be returned to her 3 to 5 days after the direct debit has cleared the system:

So, if she's only just had the direct debit taken from her account, it's perfectly normal that she won't have seen the £66 rebate yet.

My friend was due to be paid first installment of the government £400 help package this was to be the £66.

Love to all you Celtic cousins in Nothern Ireland.
Have they checked their SSE account rather than the bank account? Our was deducted from the bill.
The credit will be with SSE not paid to your friends bank
Sorry didn't see Maydup's reply but agree, with my supplier the direct debit will be reduced by £66 each month from Oct - March.
All the above is true...unless she is on payg.
As per ZM for us. Direct debit for electricity paid to ovo and next day £66.00 paid in by Ovo.
I'm not due a bill til end of October but just looked at my Octopus account. At the end of September £216 in credit - today £282 credit. Therefore the £66 has gone against my fuel bill.
I'm Octopus and my statement says that they knocked £67 off my DD, so I only paid £25 this month.
Octopus have been extremely good so far; their CEO is high profile if you read sensible newspapers who actually report such stuff. Octopus are non profit-making and the CEO hates the standing charge system.

Problem solved folks. SSE had removed monthly DD payment but did not paid £67 first payment. However friend got payment put into there bank 14 days later, due to error on their system.
