Met a lady today whilst searching for a new home who asked if we were newly retired . Hubby is 76 next month and I'm 75 and feeling 95 physically. Must admit it gave me a very appreciated lift.

You are only as old as you feel, so think younger.. I am happy she gave you a lift, best wishes for a long young feeling future.
aww, that's nice. Surprising the boost one can get from a simple comment or gesture.
You house hunting or was the lady?
I got chatting to a lovely man at the checkout in Tesco today. he helped me lift some heavy things onto the checkout counter. Afterwards he said 'I bet you are taken are you? you look lovely'. I thanked him but told a little white lie to avoid further conversation. It really did lift my spirits as I had to have a beloved pet PTS last week and still haven't got over it.
Two years from retirement, was offered a job as conductress on a Routemaster bus in London!! This was after spending a day as conductress (won in a competition) on the Willesden/Oxford Street route. I was "chuffed"! Just wish I could bound up those stairs now!
Needless to say, I had to refuse the offer.

We were house hunting and now I'm in love with that lady's bungalow and need a quick sale to buy it. I have always hated bungalows until we saw this one. Its totally private and surrounded by beautiful trees and shrubs. Very quirky too!

Poor Meagan. I feel for you. Its so heart breaking when we lose our beloved pets. X
We live in a dormer bungalow. I have the upstairs bedroom with an ensuite, and Dad has a downstairs bedroom ensuite. I must admit I like going upstairs to bed.
I really hope you get a quick sale so you get your quirky bungalow :)
If it was a bogstandard bungalow, it really wouldn't be you xx
I thought you loved your old house and its location. Is it the stairs that's causing you to move?
Lovely to get such a complement.
Thank you so much MissTerious, it was a heart-breaking decision that I still feel guilty making, but the vet said better a day too soon than a day too late.
I have received a lifetime achievement nomination for services to bariatric surgery.
The award presentation is tomorrow but unfortunately I am not going
So sorry meaghan...been there several times, and the memories of each stay with me.
Try to keep the good times at the forefront.
//bariatric surgery// had to look that one up, Red! By the way how did the tattoo and purple hair turn out?
Purple hair was not a good idea so now have to wait for it to grow out, husband said he would prefer me to have my tattoo in the U.K. where I believe they are monitored.
Meaghan very sorry for your loss

Pasta. I love our house but I used to spend all my time the garden and now can't do it. The garden is huge and showing signs of neglect. Husbands knees are bad too. And yes, stairs - I now go up like a monkey, the time has come to move. The bungalow garden is great. Lots of lovely trees and shrubs and about a quarter of the size of ours. And the bungalow won't be as much work.

Red, many congratulations. Well done xx
Is it far LL from where you are at the moment?

Helen, About 2 miles over fields and probably 4 by road. Towards Dereham. A very familiar village to us with quite a good community. A good pub restaurant chish and fips, butchers, village shop, post office. Things I haven't had here but had a car to get to them. I am totally reliant on Hubby now and I hate it.
I can imagine you hating being reliant on another person, MissT. Be good to be in a village with things close by though. Hope you get the bungalow you want. I had a lift a couple of weeks ago when a young lad told me I had lovely teeth. A week later I broke the bridge. No more lovely teeth. :-(
Cheerful tonight was a session in the Hidden Shebeen with friends. Bit of a singsong and wine and nibbles.
