It's properly called the POPLITEAL FOSSA, sometimes called the popliteal space. Definitely.

it was either on the goon show or in one of his books (i cant remember which sorry) that spike milligan referred to it as the swanicle.
That's what I thought it was called, The Popliteal Fossa, yep that's it, it was on the tip of my tongue.
