Here we go again!

I got off to a decent enough start this week, with FIVE out of 7 in the main quiz:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-62665395

It was just a middling score of THREE out of five for me in the junior quiz though :(
(I really ought to have got the space question right but I just clicked too soon!)
https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/51318780

I got the first three answers right with the Timed Teaser but I then had to wait until the final question before improving my score. So that's just FOUR out of ten for me:

So your options are open. You can either do a lot better than me or a lot worse. (You could, of course, just be boringly 'average', like me, too!).

Go on! Give it a go!

Well done on sneaking ahead of me by a single point this week, Jno ;-)
Chris - I am trying to find out if DannyK is still alive and kicking.
https://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/ChatterBank/Question1808041-2.html

I noticed that he won a Mail on Sunday codeword for £100 - mentioned in his last post. I thought that all I had to do is go to the MOS website and see the names of the winners. Alas the MOS site is huge and I got a little lost. Can you find the details - since you are a Googling genius?

I knew that you would probably come back to this thread so it seemed logical to post this post here.

Hi Susan.

Googling
'codeword -"code word" site:dailymail.co.uk'
seems to suggest that the online edition of the newspaper doesn't carry the print edition's Codeword competition (and therefore doesn't list its winners). The Google results only seem to refer to the free-to-play online version.

Sorry!
Thanks, you just confirmed what I had (eventually) suspected. I tried many combinations of keywords in google but only found the free puzzles.

I'd better get back to bed, Night!

Good morning Chris, hope you are well. Have managed to miss this for a while but scored 5/7 and 4/5 today
Garbage, as usual Chris. 1/7 and 4/5. I only got 1/7 cos I actually knew the last answer about Elton John. Didn't have a clue about t'others!

Very well done indeed, Emmie! A near-perfect grown-up, a perfect kid and a decent sprinter too! Fantastic!

Welcome back, Margo - and with some good scores too! Well done!

>>> Garbage, as usual Chris

Yes, I know that I am, 10CS, but there's no need to spell it out! Oh, you mean your scores, do you? Well, at least you're a near-perfect kid this week ;-)
Thanks Chris. Did the quizzes Friday night after returning from one of our local clubs, but wasn't up to entering my scores. Obviously haven't been watching the children's news programs this week, although I have noticed a pattern to the answers over the last couple of weeks. I'll have to see if my theory holds up next week!

Hi Chris.

Sorry for using your Bbc Quiz thread as a means of answering Susan's post on Saturday morning @ 02:27 re "dannyk13"

Does this link re "dannyk's" crossword wins make it any easier to try and maybe narrow things down a bit !!

Sorry again Chris for using your "Quiz thread" for an unrelated topic.

Well done with those two decent grown-up scores, Twix!

Hi Sam. I've done quick bit of googling but the winners's names for competitions published in the print editions of magazines are generally not published in the online editions. (That's because those competitions themselves aren't in the online editions). So, regretfully, we seem to be no further forward. Sorry :(
