Enough, enough already! After trying hard to support Boris, - largely because a leadership contest can do nothing but cause harm to the Conservative Party & the country, Khandro has finally been forced into making a U-turn, (not my first) & I'm afraid bad decision after bad decision by Johnson, leads me to withdraw my support for him- he must go & the sooner the better; that's it, c'est tout, das ist alles.
Anyone disagree?

I don’t know if there are any Welsh linguists here but Harri’s comments have been variously translated as “not a complete clown”, which sounds awful, and “not all clown” which, in English at any rate, sounds marginally better

ichi: //Johnson himself is hardly a rampant Brexiter himself.//

I'm reaching the sad conclusion that he no longer knows what he is.
Johnson is a very clever and cunning guy gradually introducing Fascism to the UK. Fortunately some of his Party are at last slowly recognising this, but there are others in his Cabinet who are only too willing to continue the trend (e.g. Rees-Mogg, Rishi Sunak) so "voter beware".
Introducing fascism to the UK?

Ridiculous.

Khandro is correct to wonder what Johnson stands for:
On a broad level he’s plainly a liberal.
But within the Tory party he has no discernible ideology.
That’s a bad thing for him because his supporters have no leg to hang their support on other than blind loyalty
And a lot of the expressions of that loyalty are as a result sounding increasingly desperate and hollow.
Remainers loathe him, the free market Brexiters also now
The only 'ideology ' Johnson has is self-worship, self-advancement and self-gratification. He's a populist; do anything necessary to further his aims without worrying whether or not it is in the country's long-term interest. A lot like Trump, but fortunately lacking armed nutters ready to answer to his call (can you imagine the Starmer incident if the demonstrators and the public and the politicians and the police had all been tooled up?)

^^ Boris is nothing at all like Trump, but don't start me on that.

avanti! (Italian) - halas (Egyptian Arabic)
Ite, missa est ( church Latin)

Yes, i do. I think he is doing a good job. He has led us through the most difficult two years for ages, his decisions have been right, and his international diplomacy is good. We knew he was a character when he was elected and no one else would do as good a job.
Boris is nothing at all like Trump, but don't start me on that.
oh dear

Sweet love, I see, changing his property,. Turns to the sourest and most deadly hate:

Richard II - or since we are multilingual today
