So, my fridge has finally packed up and I have to decide whether or not to try and get it repaired or buy a new one and I need help deciding please.
If I were to call out the repair man, it's £25 call out, and £45 labour and any parts would be on top of that.
Or, I can buy a new one for £201 96.
It has to be this particular one as it matches the freezer next to it.
For it to be cheaper to have it repaired, the part would have to be less than £131.96, or it might not need a part so I'm very undecided.
Any suggestions please?

If I bought any electrical appliance that failed at five years I wouldn't buy one of the same make to replace it.
My frost free fridge has to be over 20 years old and I'm dreading it dying as there is not anything like it on the market.
Barry some do go further than 5 years etc but nothing at 15-20 years - those days are over.

Manufacturers engineer in a period untill failure of their appliances .

Afterall they can't have an appliance going for donkeys nowadays .

They need to keep an eye on the sales and profit margins

On short , they need customers to replace their products
''on short '' ?

In short
That's as maybe but some companies are still going strong because their products are reliable. The new 'right to repair' law that is coming should put a boot up backsides, too.
Both my washing machine and tumble dryer came with 10 year guarantees
