If anyone is worried about having the jab, there is no need to worry, for the side effect - a deep throbbing in the upper arm is far worse than the cause, just a little pri...well, you know the rest! But honestly, after having a life-long fear of the needle, I am "getting used to it" these past five years, so if I can do it (yesterday), anyone can!...and let's all hope that it works wonders!...typed with a sore arm and a happy smile!
I had my tonsils out when I was 21. I had daily injections in my backside for a week after. If you asked the nurse she would slap your bum before the injection to numb the pain.
Great memory from the ENT ward, ear nose and throat. There was an old chap who had a trachonomatry, wrong spelling. He had a tube in his throat and had to put a finger over the outlet so he could could speak.
We used to play cards where you had to say "last card"
If we thought he was going to win my mate and me held his hand so he could not speak, great fun.
