I'm going to put a preformed plastic pond on my allotment. The size would be about 4'x3'. Any recommendations on where to buy one?

Have you sunk the sinks then, Melv?
Question Author
Yes Tilly, I've sunk the sink in. So wildlife can get in and out. I'd post a pic if I could. Anyone know of any sites?

My green wheelie bin went missing on Monday. Now I think I know who's got it!
;-)

I'm wondering how much 'management' such ponds need though in order for them not to end up as just puddles of green, slimy stagnant water? As a kid I tried sinking old washing up bowls into the ground (and perhaps adding some vegetation sourced from local ponds) in order to attract frogs and toads, etc but I always seemed to end up with just a lot of smelly green ooze (much to my mother's irritation). So what's the trick to getting it right?
Question Author
No expert on ponds, but I think putting a net over it in autumn should keep the leaves out. Otherwise, I'll keep it topped up and remove any blanket weed etc.
Everyone on the site has got a green bin, the council stopped the service (unless you paid) some years ago.
Well done there Melve!
Its good to know that the wildlife is not forgotten.
You need to get some oxygen in, you can get solar oxygen pumps.
What's the big, bright blue thing?
Question Author
It's an upturned water butt, Tilly. I use it to force rhubarb which you can see back left.
