The wonderful surgeon who did my lung cancer operation at Guy's Hospital in December has told me I am now free of cancer, I don't need any further treatment and it won't return. I was so shocked and relieved and it's taken a while to sink in.
Apparently I am in the 2% of people who get this type of LC. I asked if my smoking many years ago had caused it and he said not, it was purely bad luck.
So, who's a lucky girl then? XXXXX

Afternoon everyone, more lovely messages I see, thank you so much.
BD, I understand how you feel re the guilt about your DiL, I feel the same. You wonder why me and not them it's not fair and there is no answer. We are lucky, they weren't. All I can say when you visit your friend is make sure you have a smile on your face when you enter the room. When my son was terminally ill he hated it when people came to see him with the "oh poor you you're dying so I must look sad" look on their faces. He wanted a laugh and to have a bit of fun for a while. Thinking about it he was so much braver than me bless him.
Off to look at some more mutts looking for a home which'll keep me out of mischief for a while. xx

Wonderful news Ladybirder, I am so pleased for you. xx
