I wouldn’t normally post this but I’m away from home, camped outside a hospital in a B & B and in bits.
My middle son was taking short cut thru local park v late at night with a friend when he was jumped, attacked and mugged. They beat him unconscious, then carried on and left him for dead. He has fractured skull,bleed on brain, fractured eye socket, fractured cheek bone, nose broken in 3 places, 2 haemotomas behind injured eye. He looks like he’s been in a major car accident. I’m in bits. Consultants have said he was close to death.
Am just devastated.

When you say your son was mugged, did the assailant steal anything from him? Has it been recovered?

I can't see from Smow's post that anything was stolen or were they known to him or anything. That's probably not important at the moment.

But.... young men can and do recover from this. from what you say, they may well operate to reconstruct the eye socket - this again has good results

he is in a good hospital and is young enough to over come all this

The reason I asked about the mugging, and whether things had been recovered' is because it would indicate that the police would have concrete evidence that they had the correct assailant.

I did post an update but it seems it never appeared. Son is on the mend. Awaiting reconstruction surgery. They have arrested one of the guys and have asked my son to attend an I.D parade on Tuesday to try and pick him out. Quite how he’s going to do that when this all happened in the dark I don’t know.
