How should a chamois leather cloth be prepared for use?

rinse in warm water...but pls think of the poor chamois and buy synthetic microfibre, they are just as good

Too late for this poor beast, alas. I already have the cloth. Thank you for answering. My experience of artificial shammies is that they are either very good or awful. The ones I have now are awful.

the expensive kinds of microfibre cloth make an excellent alternative, wash in the washing machine and don't go hard and horibble if left. Expect to pay 6 to 8 quid a pop. We own a Honda valkyrie bike covered in chrome and those cloths leave it dry and sparkling with virtually no effort

Thanks. I'll give it a whirl. The real chamois leather cost more than that.
