Me as well Smowball, how he dare claim rights. What about the rights of the woman he murdered. He should be denied his request.
It's chilling alright, let's hope the answer is a resounding no.

And did you also read how many men they have actually allowed to have treatment whilst inside? Completely insane!!
Hmmmm you'd question the sense of a girl wanting to have a baby with a man who is going to be locked up for the next 31 years at least. I appreciate that you can't help who you love, and doubtless she sees a different man than the cold blooded killer, but seriously she'd do well to have a word with herself, there's nothing but a miserable future for all concerned in this, not to mention the moral questions raised about whether it's appropriate since he took someone's life.
I wasn't speechless, but can't post what I said.

His request should be turned down flat.
This is bang out of order. They may be taking these criminals emotions into account, but what about the motions of the IVF born child? When they realise, they are IVF (if ever told..) and that they were forced into this word by their dads criminal mind and emotions.

there was recently a BBC1 radio segment on IVF children, featuring IVF children and how they felt it was so unfair they had never got told their mum or dad aren't their real dads, and how it affected there relationship and trust throughout life.

Also sometimes they're not legally allowed to find the parent, how awful is that? Some people donate to IVF then sign a waver sayign never contact me etc.. etc.. So the kid has to find out through via DNA. Totally uncertian about family history etc..

Now imagine you're a prison IVF kid.. 10 X worse.
In this mad, mad pc world of ours ruled by do-gooders, he will no doubt get his wish. Makes me sick !!

Honestly the mind absolutely boggles about what get allowed sometimes!!
No Spath this isn't the same scenario, he wants the right to have a baby with his girlfriend, not donate anonymously :/
IVF is stupidly expensive and complex, prisoners and this man should have no right to it. Only people who desperately feel they need it should be allowed IVF. Not scummy prisoners who don't know that actions have consequences.

Also i know.. i was just giving some recently sought knowledge out about ivf. No one ever thinks of the ivf kids perspective, it's always the parents that can't conceive.
The important thing with kids is that they are loved, and that those that love them and that they love are honest with them about their genetic roots. who their mother and father is is determined by who raises them and done right there should be no worry, confusion or heartbreak involved whatsoever.
I'm just relaying what actual IVF kids said on the radio.
"we rarely hear from those who have grown up as a product of ivf"

IVe had IVF actually, and it’s incredibly expensive! Which is even more reason he shouldn’t be allowed!!
No... I don't see that anyone has "the right" to conceive, do they? Surely it depends on circumstances, for everyone, it isn't a given.
