1/ Rhyhiem Ainsworth Barton was murdered in Southwark on Saturday evening
2/ Three men were doused with 'noxious substance' in Hackney at 5am on Sunday
3/ Two boys, 13 and 15, were shot minutes apart at 1pm in Harrow, north London
4/ A 22-year-old man rushed to hospital in Lewisham after being shot at 6pm
5/ A 43-year-old man was stabbed in Perivale at 9pm after a dispute about driving

But there is hope, at last the Met has decided to take some action, I do hope it doesn't upset the communities too much.

/// The Met is to send out extra patrols and increase 'stop and search' today after a bloody crime wave of shootings including the murder of a 17-year-old and one drive-by attack where a 13-year-old was gunned in the head but survived. ///

sounds like South Africa.
Nope, just London under the mayorship of the courageous crusader against violence and disorder, Sadique Khan.

He is taking this tidal wave of violent crime most seriously, don't you know.
I reckon that the closing of police stations, the lack of a police presence, CCTV that isn't watched live, estates that are built like rabbit runs, huge high rise blocks etc etc may have something to do with the problems facing London...and of course the rest of the country isn't crime free.......Maybe the reliance on social media where you do not have to speak to a real person doesn't help people to become more social Poor parenting may also be an issue.. do all parents know how to parent effectively??
Mally....I do believe that most parents do a good job. Kids from wealthy families also do bad things. Your other points are relevant imo.

A parent living in a high rise estate can easily lose control of their children through no fault of their own.
I taught in Southwark for 20 years...and I saw many parents who found it hard to carry out basic parenting stuff...such as give their child food before and after school, keep an eye on homework, put a limit on time out of the home ...do not get me wrong, there is a total mixture of parents but for some it is hard and they do not have parents themselves to help them. Many are very far from the family support networks that many of our own parents had.
And Liverpool.

Maybe the victim doesn’t fit the right profile.
I went into Croydon shopping centre earlier and on my way to the bus stop I walked past a man surrounded by police shouting something along the lines of "it was only 2 inches, man"!

Seconds later I walked past a group of girls screaming and shouting at another girl whilst shoving her and the same police and the guy that was surrounded all diverted their attention to the girls.

There is quite a lot of police presence in Croydon especially after school.
Seems odd that so many of these crimes are being carried out at more or less the same time. Does anyone else think they could be linked in some way?
Is the Home Secretary reponsible for Law and order? .
He's busy interviewing potential scapegoats at the moment.

Don't try and turn this into a racist issue sp, people are concerned over the loss of young lives.

Real racists would be replying, "who cares, that is a few more less".

I just find it sad that when a white person is killed, you don't care. You're only interested when black and Asian lads are killed.

That's a shame.

Who says I don't care, but one has to be careful especially if a black or Asian person kills a white person, one could be labelled as racist if one protested, but there have been many such incidents, but they don't get the same coverage as the Stephen Lawrence case.

I still feel that this poor lad in Liverpool won’t get any attention, simply because both he and his alleged attacker are white.

Too many times, the deaths of white working class boys are ignored.
