I’m in a bit of confusion and frustration at the moment had my car at a garage to have what is supposed to be an easy job of a lambda sensor change but they say to me that in order to change it I need a more costly catalytic converter change too because the sensor is seized I don’t buy that i need to change anything other than sensor does anyone know if this is possible

The reason I say that you maybe better off with a ring spanner is that usually a socket won't go over a lambda sensor ( looks a bit like a spark plug ) td.

The socket I have today has a side missing so the cable can go through it. I saw it said oxygen sensor on label so I decided to pick it up for €18. And I got some penetration spray
Haven't seen one of those before, Should do the job then, td.

Just to make sure my diagnostic says behind catalytic converter does that me pre or post cat i think post but now im not so sure
Probably a bit late(!), but 'behind' to me would imply after (or post) cat.
