Do you agree that the local Protestant churches collectively enrich our British culture, and that their demise are a sad loss to our British way of life?
I did as promised and looked her up, surprisingly, her original name in the novel was Pansy ! My critics may say I resemble her, in being, "vain, self-centred and very spoilt", but her "fashionably small waist" sadly no longer applies.
Khandro, you do have a propensity to go off at tangents. Neither St Agnes, nor her dubious history, have relevance to this thread or to people who, for whatever reason, like to visit churches.
n. //people who, for whatever reason, like to visit churches.//
Do you not know that 'we' are not only allowing entry to Europe, but actively inviting people who not only do not know who she, and other Christian saints were, but would actively like to 'visit' Burgos cathedral and smash her to pieces with a sledge hammer.
n. At the moment there isn't a "discussion", there's only me talking and you, as usual, keep asking why. Where is the AB rule which says we must keep rigidly to the OP anyway?
Difficult to maintain a conversation with you, Khandro, when I don't know what point you're trying to make. Asking you what you're talking about is the only way I know of attempting to find out.
The Roman church is very must a cult. It uses a perverted bible, AND its traditions, not sola scriptura. The pope addresses the United Nations and never mentioned Christ once. A true antichrist.
As the largest church in the world I cannot accept the concept of RCs being a 'cult'. The use of the term 'AntiChrist' harks back to the days of Paisley and co. Whilst I disagree with some Romish doctrines I do not doubt their fidelity.
The God who reveals Himself is frustratingly obscure. A slippery character , you might think. Christianity has three thousand sects based on the same foundational texts. If you're a Muslim you can't understand its foundational texts unless you know classical Arabic.
Douglas Adams got it better: the answer's 42. How does that help then? Obviously not at all. Leaves us with the practical problem of working together, using our brains and trying to deal with things as they are the best way we can.
