as some of you know my 8yr old daughter is being taunted/bullied by a 38 yr old woman, the final straw came this morning when my daughters school phoned and said she was in tears because this woman had started on her again, i have just been round to the womans house to try and put a stop to things, she started calling my daughter allsorts of things so i punched her, im not proud of the fact what can i expect if she calls the police?

It's one of those things that happens and sounds absolutely appauling to other people who weren't there but even though I obviously don't advocate any sort of violence I can understand how it happened although it's a good sign that you regret it now! This may sound too simple but couldn't you go to the police after a while when her face is healed etc? I think this woman sounds slightly mad and needs help xxx
I'm sorry but if some disgusting harridan was putting the fear of god into my child every single day, and making her believe she was in danger - i would have done more than punch her!!!

this kind of treatment could effect your daughters whole life!

and before anyone says 'you will sink to her level etc' - i don't care, i would not put up with that kind of behaviour in this scenario.

well done loopyc!
some people haven't the capacity to see reason or feel guilt or realise the error of their ways, they only understand this kind of behaviour - you tried reasoning with her, it didn't work - so you played her game, at her level, and it sounds like it worked as it sounds like she didn't hit you back.

i do not condone violence though.
i would have rather secretly filmed her in action, or sent her and official warning letter or something, but sometimes its the only way to really deal with it.

i expect her neighbours are not exactly enamoured with her either and if the police are involved, some of them will likely stick up for you (the police may even know what she's like anyway)
Loopy, I've been following this post with interest (I didn't have anything to add to the excellent advice you got from everyone else, so I didn't post!).

I'd like to think that I'd have your guts if needed to protect my children, I admire you for standing up to this bully.

I think Nox gives the best advice (as usual), follow that & you won't go far wrong.

The reason for this post is to say PLEASE keep us posted as to what happens - we want to know you're OK!

Sending much love x

hi loopyc, i didnt read your original post when you posted it, but i have just read it and it has made me sooooo mad! i cannot abide bullies, and she is so pathetic bullying a child.

as for what you did-good on you!! i would have done the exact same if not worse!! dont think i would have stopped at just a punch!!!! (i'm a nice person honest!!) i just cant stand children being bullied by people like this demented cow!! she obviously cant bully anyone her own age and for some sick reason feels she can overpower a child...stupid old crow!!! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!! it makes me so mad.

anyway, sorry to have gone on!! i could go on more!!! i'll answer the question now!!- i dont think the police can do very much, i think a caution is all you will get.

hope it all works out for you loopyc, i'll be thinking about you xxxxxxxxx
