Hedge trimmers

My boyfriend wants a hedge trimmer for his birthday. Can anyone recommend one? We've only got a smallish garden so would not need anything too heavy duty.

For a smallish garden, I think an electric trimmer would be suitable, they are much lighter than petrol versions but of course you have to watch you dont cut through the cable (always use a RCD breaker on your plug socket)

I'd also take a look at the rechargable types that are available now. Their pretty powerful nowadays.
