Skype Not Connecting

It has been ok but after I deleted my history recently on my desktop I cant connect to my niece in Oz, any ideas please ?

Skype not connecting isn't the same thing as your not being able to connect to your niece!

First things first - can you actually log in to Skype or not? Does the Skype icon in your system tray show light green and say "Connected"?

It says I am online when I go into skype.When I try to connect to my neice it rings once or twice and then goes off and does not connect.
