The British public have voted, so why the delay ?
Is it:
1. May's heart isn't in it and will be gone by the next election. Leaving someone else to tidy up the mess
2. An admission that our Trade Negotiators are useless and 3 years time is beyond them, and they need 2 extra years to catch up.
3. She is too busy trying to save her own neck than concentrate on what is best best for the country.
4. May is the wrong person at the wrong time to be PM.
5. We are all f******ed

OG 10.13 " if we have Brexited by 2021, " now do you mean If or When in your post.???
Haaaaaa. You're the confused one, Gul.
How are they reasonable ?
They're simply exploitative.
"If", as otherwise the question is making assumptions that aren't necessary, and simply wouldn't read/sound right.
Do you mean if ,or when, we are still in the EU, in 2022 ??
But you said we'd be out by 2021.
Question Author
EU rules say we must leave in 2019.
May has asked for a 2 year extension, but they don't have to agree to that, in fact it may actually be against EU rules to stay beyond Article 50s leaving timetable.
Well said Gromit....this is May begging for something that the EU may not give her after all.
I understood that extensions were permissable provided both sides agreed ? Maybe I misunderstood. In any case, matters little if we can choose not to agree after all.
You're correct OG. An extension can be made if all members unanimously agree to one.
