Just wondering, how many of you drink alcohol on a daily basis, with or after your evening meal perhaps?

Lots of posts refer to people having a drink and I just wondered how many of you drink each day.

I tend to have a G&T on the go all the time but it may last 2 or 3 days as I just take a sip now and again as a de-stresser. Alcohol does not make me feel jolly and I have honestly never been drunk socially in my life.
A glass of red every evening whilst I am cooking and another glass when I eat the result. This is normal in France and I lived there a long time - doesn't seem to hurt them.

Congratulations Nailit, well done you! :)
Yes nailit... self-medication usually x
Excellent nailit.

Andy-hughes, you said you were generalising and then said it's true anyway (about how Brits drink in order to get drunk). You might see some items in the media about young people getting sloshed and embarrassing, but it's far from the norm.

My son is in his twenties. He and his wife rarely drink. A few members of my family drink a fair bit including me, my dad and my sister. Others amongst us have the occasional glass of wine or beer while out with friends.

Well done to you Nailit. I very rarely have a drink, probably just when I go out for the evening..
Did you see my question last week?
Apparently it is not the youngsters who are the problem drinkers now it is us old ***

You have a problem Eddie?
I have a couple of glasses of red wine in the evening - haven't poured one yet today.
These days I average one pint a week, at the pub quiz.

That's it.

Might have 6/7 at a social gathering, every 8-10 weeks.
I don't drink, a glass of well chilled water is enough for me

I think I'll take the fifth amendment on this one, Tilly.... ;-)
Yes I have a problem , I'm a pensioner and most pubs want over £4 a pint, thank God for Weatherspoons and real ale at £1.89 a pint.
Tax equality day on the 20th by the way 7.5% off at 'Spoons' one day only.
As a baby-boomer my golden rule is to drink until the bottle is empty. When it is empty, open another one.
One's too many, a dozen isn't enough ;-/
I will join gness on this one.
A pint of shandy IS alcohol, consisting of 50% ale and 50% lemonade.
