Bloke works hard to get a decent car and these thieving lowlife vermin murder him trying to steal it. Absolute tragedy, throw away the key if you ask me. These savages should never see the light of day again. No doubt some soft judge will let them off with couple of years. Madness

Detective Supt Jon Chadwick: "This is the murder of an innocent man who has merely sought to protect his property from criminals." - still you and Islay go on and see if you can make some more excuses for the perpetrators. This is a serious thread about a serious crime why do you seek to use it to have a pop at me?
Is it not a case that a death resulting from a criminal action is murder ?
Question Author
could be Donny, hopefully the judge will impart his wisdom here soon.
Donny, intent is needed to prove murder,in a death arising from a criminal act itmust be proven that the criminal foresaw the result of his/her actions.
killed by these scum using his own car, horrible story...
TTT from reading the story this is NOT murder, To be honest it may not be manslaughter either, I am not taking sides just looking at the facts.
To charge them with murder it must be proved beyond doubt that the actually intended to kill the car owner, that is the law NOT my opinion.
They will probably get charged with manslaughter but it could only be aggravated robbery.
As said, if they were charged with murder and the charge failed then they walk free! you can not be tried for the same offence twice that is a basic tenant of law.
Also as said, the police always start an investigation such as this as a murder enquiry, the reason being that a charge can not be upgraded once laid. A murder charge can be downgraded to manslaughter but a manslaughter charge can not be upgraded to murder.
Question Author
Yes eddie I agree that they did not set out with intent to kill but later during the theft if the owner was blocking them and they ran him over then that could be seen as a clear intent at that time, not from the outset.
Lol Tora nothing better than petty insults!! Always good to debate with you.
Man held over car theft death

When thy catch them send them to the front line in Syria or Afghanistan
You do post some utter tosh, RVM.
I am probably wrong here but,I thought the "Double Jeopardy" Law allowed a crime to be charged twice.
You're right, Everhelpful
