I don't often praise our US friends but credit where it's due.

Link doesn't work. It was the theme song from Oklahoma.
What difference does it make what he firearm was called.

This is just another way that gun ownership has raised the anti in America. In this country, he would be charged with manslaughter at least....over there he may very well get a medal.
Saudi has a good cure, they don't do it again do they.
Ever heard of the concept of justifiable homicide, Mikey? Or are you one of those who think that the thug policeman who mowed down a poor innocent guy who had just stabbed his colleague to death should face trial?
Serves them right.
Raised the ante, not anti, aunty. :))

mikey: "This is just another way that gun ownership has raised the anti in America. In this country, he would be charged with manslaughter at least....over there he may very well get a medal. " - sadly me old china, you are probably correct. Frankly I prefer the US system of being able to defend you home from thieving scum. They were tooled up to rob and no doubt would have inflicted injury or death on the inhabitants, but that's ok in liberal heaven isn't it?
Isn't it more liberal to allow folk to hold arms than to ban it ?

have you been on the limp dum brave pills OG?
Burglary isn't a capital offence, so I don't see what there is to celebrate about this, but neither do I blame the man who shot them if he felt it was the only thing to do. In the face of people who are armed in any way at all self-defence is paramount.

"Burglary isn't a capital offence"

Used to be, very much so. In fact it was one of the last crimes to be made no longer subject to capital punishment.

ever been burgled jim? ever had low life scum rummaging through your property so they can flog it down the hot shop for a shilling? no of course not, that's why empathy does not exist in the minds of our Liberal elite friends. Death's too good for them in my opinion.
Well there was a time when pretty much everything was a capital offence in some part of the world or other, to be sure. But it isn't a capital offence *now*.
Actually I have been -- and mugged twice, and beaten up a couple of times. As have various members of my family, friends, etc etc.
God bless America .. ;0) ... God SAVE America !!
// "Burglary a capital offence//

and there was a time when JD held that a capital crime was when you killed someone and not earned the death sentence

pass the mushrooms !

1861 Act - by the way self defence would apply here

or as my neighbour said: let me get this right - I have to drag the thief BACK into my property and THEN beat him up..... ?
// Actually I have been -- and mugged twice, and beaten up a couple of times. //

after I thought I was gonna get stabbed in Hope Hospital car park 1988, I went to self defence classes - and never regretted it.
( and even went onto take a knife of a lad who was trying to stab someone ) . I might even have got a coloured belt - it was so long ago. Jim if you do that - you will meet different if not interesting people ....
bullied kid body slams bully - oooowww!!
