I was living in Norfolk when HM became Queen. Went to "rich" neighbours to watch it on a tiny TV.

The ascension was 1952 and the Coronation of her Majesty was Tuesday 2nd June 1953. I remember we had a Stella TV delivered, no doubt on tick, and the delivery men putting up a TV aerial as they set it up. I was 5 years old, and remember vividly the boredom having been made to watch it. I just wanted to be outside playing. I think we had been given the day off school. Little did I know then that I would spend a large part of my working life involved in the TV industry and even start it by installing TVs and aerials. I was even installing colour TVs around Caernarfon on the day of the investiture in July 1969. Not all the attempts to get signal were successful and there were some very disappointed people. Weird or what.
