My debit card has gone missing in the post. I have contacted my bank and they have stopped it and reissued me with another.

I am concerned that my card might have got into the wrong hands, can transactions be done with my card seeing has they would have my bank account details and my name and address? My bank don't seem bothered!

Keep an eye on your statements.

Shouldn't be a problem - the card had been cancelled and cannot be used as a debit card - You're new one will have a different number.

They will still have your account details though (IF it's been stolen). Any erroneous payments appearing on your account should be reported to your bank. They'll refund the money. Don't be overly worried though

If the card's cancelled I wouldn't worry.
Keep an eye on your statements and new direct debits etc. being set up. It's *very* unlikely anything will be.

I used to work for a bank and if a card was stopped and resissued you'd be able to predict the card number, expiry date and issue number as they follow a pattern. The CVV2 number on the back was the only thing that was totally random.
Not many criminals know this. Well, at least not until they read this. I hope you're not with that same bank ;-)
