I can remember when they gave lollipops away if you were good. It was only the 60's. Surely they knew even then that sweets rotted your teeth!
Only to the children, I might add.
Also teeth although the advice was certainly out there. I've forked out a lot for a couple of bridges and a crown last 2 years that would have been quite unnecessary (not to mention the piles of painkillers). I avoided the dentisi for years.
I am pleased to say I have looked after my teeth and have only lost two and that was when I was eleven years old, I am now 70, I just could not bear the thought of a plate of false teeth in my mouth.
My Mother and father both had falsies in their 40's I had to pull out my fathers last tooth - big one at the front to avoid the dentist.
That was the only education I needed and I still have all but two of my teeth.
I was expecting more people to say they would look after their knees.
I have all my teeth but then again, I have visited the dentist every six months for the last 40 years.
I do wish, though, that I'd not had my long blonde hair cut when I was forty five. :-(
I'm starting to wish I'd looked after my skin better, by not sunbathing with a low factor so much when I was young. I'm starting to see the effects of what damage the sun can do, and I don't like it.
