If your legs and feet are hot to touch I find a cool damp towel when resting very useful. Dampen a hand towel and pop it in the fridge - then lay it over your legs.
oh dear..allopurinol ? change of diet !! are they going to drain the fluid ? this helps relieve the pressure and pain big time..dad's knees were drained a few times...his gout caused by medication...
You seem to be on a self destruct mission, dick. Despite having gastric surgery to limit your intake you drink far too many pints of beer which really cannot be good for your weight let alone your overall health.

Get a grip, man! You have a young daughter to look after and you'll be no good to her if you are unwell.
beer one of the worst things if you are overweight..any alcohol with gout is bad....
I agree with you Die - it sounded like gout. My brother had it years ago and he was in so much pain (liked a big drink too).

Nothing would stop him getting out and he cycled wherever he was going ie the pub maybe.

My cousin made me laugh last week when she was telling me her dad had it and again rather than let it beat him. He walked to the local shop in a sock to get his Belfast bap and Irish News. That would have been him - hope you are feeling better soon Die.
Oh diesel, are you the one with a foreign wife? Sorry if i worded that badly ;(
