Have just come in from taking the kids to a rare Mcdonalds 'treat' (??) and have to say that it was possibly the most disgusting 'meal' ever. The burgers in the kiddies meals were horrendous made from 'meat' that I wouldn't give to my dog and my 'bacon cheese quarterpounder' tasted as if it had been made last week and left on a back shelf somewhere. If we had of been sat in the restaurant I would've asked for my money back but we went to the drive thro'. NO MORE McDONALDS FOR US. Are they all the same nowadays??

No change there then.
MacDonalds is no doubt vile - Burger King is slightly better. Better still make your own - its much nicer!!
ditto
Most are now franchised out so they're no longer the same uniform standards across the board. Also, in order to make the menu healthier they've taken out most of the good stuff, like fat!

I used to look after the plant displays in about 6 macdonalds around the Brighton area.

Even if they're franchised...which many are, they still have to use the same burgers, scrambled egg mixes, coffe, salads etc etc etc as all the other stores.

The one thing that really annoys me is the politically correct brigade moaning about how unhealthy these fast food restuarants are..........well i honestly though that the point of going to McD's or BK was to have an unhealthy, full of fat meal....not bloody salad !!!!!!!!!!!

Franchised food outlets are meant to get all of their supplies from the franchise company's official distributor. This doesn't mean that actually do! Read this post to learn about the tricks used by some franchisees:

I had a months hol on east &west coast of USA a month ago, and although do not go to Macdonalds after having been once - I can say in all honesty that the burgers over there are entirely different and actually lookand taste of meat. The diff. is that Americans do not accept anything unless it is right !

By the way, the Americans are very nice people and extremely helpful,

I have to admit, I love the occasionaly Big Mac meal and a hot apple pie. There have been some occasions where the burger bun has been all rubbery and the burger itself is yucky and watery, but I'd always go and ask for a fresh one.

To be honest, I don't expect perfection from fast food places. The kids who work there are 16 and don't care, the managers are about 19 and don't have a clue.

In my experience, some McDonalds are better than others, but I doubt it's due to franchising, more to do with the managers.
