10 years ago , on top of our wedding cake there was a fancy flower decoration which I have kept. Today I noticed that it had gone soft and was leaking the green from the leaves on to the shelf.Have I leftit too late to preserve it, and how ?
Thanks gness, think I will look into getting some of that. woofgang , I put it in the fridge but it has not helped much, will try the airing cupboard until the cake lacquer comes.
And an air tight container will keep it dry afterwards.
A similar things happened to me, i had a blue icing flower from a cake which faded on one side. I popped it in a plastic container and saved it. Anyone any suggestions for painting it blue again? Its part blue and part back to white.
blue dusting powder? you want what’s called blossom dust. You could dust it on dry all over which is the safest way but might not give you the look you want, alternatively mix with rejuvenator which is spirit based and paint it on. use light coats so it doesn’t get too wet at once. Neither method is 100% guaranteed.
